Why I Am Making My 3rd Game

I hate to break it to you — it’s going to be another boring game.

The first half of 2023 is quickly coming to a close and you might be wondering where I’m headed with my next project. The truth is… I have been slacking.

Let’s backtrack a little to the end of 2022. Night at the Clownville was successfully launched on itch.io and it is my best game yet. Yeah, if you consider it a demo, it is entirely playable. But if you see it as a game, you might be bluffing yourself.

You see, Night at the Clownville was a MEGA dream project. Getting chased by Christmas monsters on a snowy Christmas night in a Christmas theme park — I bet you must have dreamt of such a scene when you were young!

I did anyway.

And to turn it into a game is such a dream come true, literally, but I’ve always known it would take much more than just courage to produce a perfect piece. Before setting about to develop the game, hesitation and fear crept in and I couldn’t help but slacked a little, worrying that I was not able to complete it — every game developer’s nightmare basically. Slowly, I picked up what seemed to be momentum when I dived straight into designing the theme park myself.
